James C. “Jimmy” Emmert

James C. “Jimmy” Emmert, age 43, of Wellston, passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2018. He was born Sept. 26, 1974 in Gallipolis, Ohio to James P. Emmert and Diane M. Ward Emmert.

Jimmy was a 1993 graduate of Vinton County Consolidated High School. He was a truck driver who was employed by AK Materials of Wellston. Jimmy loved spending time with his friends, going to the dirt track, boating on the river, camping and riding a Harley.

He is survived by his parents, Jim Emmert of Hamden and Diane Emmert of Hamden; wife, Beckie M. Sifford Emmert; daughters, Kourtney Emmert and Kamryn Emmert, both of McArthur; step-daughters, Megan Lathey (Ryan) and Mallory Owings; step-son, Bryce Owings; sisters, Angie Caudill (Jason) of McArthur and Heidi McIntire (Mike) of Hamden; grandparents, Betty Emmert of Hamden and Geneva and Mike Harkins of McArthur; along with two step-grandsons and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward “Art” Emmert and Oscar and Mary Ward.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Smith officiating.
