Bobby Jack Carney, Sr.

Bobby Jack Carney Sr., age 79, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born in Riverside, West Virginia on July 27, 1938 to the late George and Blanche (Keenan) Carney.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Connie (Adkins) Carney, of Jackson; children, Bobby J. Carney Jr., of Panama City, FL., William Edward “Bill” Carney, of Jackson, Jeannie (Dana) Exline, of Jackson, Cindy Joy Weatherholt of Ashland, KY., Anita (Ed) McNeal, of Morehead, KY., Brian (Christina) Carney, of Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren, Levi and Alex Exline, Annabelle and Lilah McNeal, Olivia and Beckett Weatherholt, and Miles and Natalie Carney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Regina (Schwab) Carney; five sisters; and one brother, Bill Carney.

His favorite thing to do was to be around live country music and to sing. He also enjoyed hunting. He loved being with his family, his friends and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a past member of the Portland Masonic Lodge #366 of Oak Hill.

Friends may call Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A funeral service will immediately follow the calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
