Charles Lawrence “Charlie” Pratt, age 78, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born Feb. 9, 1939 in New Marshfield, Ohio to the late John Wesley Pratt, Sr. and Pearl Edith Ferguson Pratt.
Charlie was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a Union Carpenter who retired from the Ohio Carpenters Local #200 of Columbus. Charlie enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets, and during his younger years, he was an avid dirt track racer.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Bonnie Blanche Cook Pratt; children, Sue Downard (Steve) of Radcliff, Francis Pratt of Jackson and Preston Pratt of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Steven Downard, Mark Downard, Adam Downard, Allyson Cunningham and Lucas Cunningham, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Pratt Cunningham, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Calling hours will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service, with military honors, will begin at 1 p.m. In keeping with Charlie’s wishes, cremation will follow the service.
