Sherry Y. Adams, 78, of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017 at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. She was born on May 11, 1939 in Ewington, Ohio, daughter of the late Francis and Minnie (Canode) Cottrill.

Sherry retired from the State of Ohio Unemployment Office. A very active lady, she was loved by her family and many friends; she was a member of the Vinton County Senior Citizens and enjoyed painting, gambling, bargain shopping, watching NASCAR and playing Bingo.

Sherry was a wonderful homemaker who made the best beef roast and fried potatoes. She was also very talented at crocheting, quilting, and sewing. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving family: son, Nicky Holter; grandsons, Nathan Holter (Stephanie Ayala), Josh (Ashley) Holter, and Jacob (Amanda) Holter; great-grandchildren, Daisy, Ruby, Marlee, Derrick, Chris, Ethan, and Brendon; brother, Francis Nelson (Eleanor) Cottrill; sisters, Eulah Patton and Deanna Hollingshead; special friend and significant other, Jim Brooks; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating Sherry’s life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston with Pastor Jim Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home also on Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m.
