Joanne R. Baribeau, age 78, of Wellston, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Heartland of Jackson. She was born April 28, 1939 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, daughter of the late Burgess Baribeau and Marilyn Jackson Baribeau.
Joanne was a homemaker and nanny who loved to socialize with her friends and family. She enjoyed reading and watching baseball games. Joanne was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wellston, as well as the Altar and Rosary Society, Wellston Senior Citizens and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by children, Dora Madeiros of Texas, Lindy Simpson (Mark) of California, LeRay McDowell of California, Lori Allen (Ron) of Oak Hill and Leila Morgan of Jackson; sisters, Lynn and Mary Lou, as well as 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil McDowell; son, Raymond McDowell; and her sister, Sue.
Calling hours will be Monday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 A.M. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Donald Maroon officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
