Charles Michael “Mike” Zimmerman

Charles Michael “Mike” Zimmerman, age 67, of Wellston, passed peacefully at his home on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017. He was born Sept. 19, 1949 in Vinton County, Ohio to the late Charles R. Zimmerman and Dorothy I. Lee Zimmerman of Dundas.

Mike was a 1967 graduate of Vinton County Consolidated High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force who served during the Vietnam War. He was a former professional over the road truck driver for Penske Logistics and also a former employee of Austin Powder for 14 years. Mike was a lifetime member of the McArthur V.F.W. Post 5299. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed visiting with his family and friends, watching his favorite T.V. shows, working jigsaw puzzles on his computer and going to the casino.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Connie Fee Rose Zimmerman; children, Chris Zimmerman of McArthur and Michelle Immel of Grove City; step-children, Jerry Rose of McArthur, Douglas Rose of Florida, Keith Rose of Montana, Melody Hall of Florida and Vicky Rose of Florida; grandchildren, Luke, Megan, Justin, Brittany, Hailey, Austin and Alex; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Preston, Henry, Olivia, Johnathen and Emily; along with 18 step-grandchildren and 32 step- great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Zimmerman Sowers; step-son, Randall Fee; and brothers, Larry Zimmerman and Gary Zimmerman.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, his body was cremated and there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
