Darrell W. Angles

Darrell W. Angles, age 62, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at the Holzer Medical Center ER in Jackson, Ohio. He was born April 28, 1955 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Homer H. Angles, Jr. and Norma Jean Riffle Angles.

Darrell was a 1973 graduate of Vinton County Consolidated High School. He was a former sales rep for both Starr Electric and State Electric for several years, as well as being employed as a substitute bus driver for Wellston City Schools. Darrell was a former President and member of the Wellston City School Board of Education. In his younger years, Darrell’s passion was playing drums, which he did faithfully for several gospel groups in the area. He enjoyed coaching baseball, both little league and high school, bowling, golfing, and most recently, he enjoyed playing golf online with his friends in Canada and England. Darrell was always eager to cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Conn Angles, whom he married on Oct. 19, 1979; son, Justin Angles (Brandy) of Wellston; sisters, Jeanne Bell of McArthur and Bobbie Jo Ghearing (Joe) of Wellston; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herby and Jean Conn of Wellston; sister-in-law, Lisa Vires (Scott) of Wellston; brother-in-law, Brian Conn (Barb) of Wellston, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and a host of friends.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.
