John Wesley “Sonny” Ragland, age 66, formerly of Chillicothe, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio. He was born on May 23, 1951 in Jackson County to the late Ernest and Goldie (Tanner) Ragland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Wesley Ragland.
He is survived by sons, Brian Ragland and Christopher Ragland; sisters: Cheryl Ragland of Columbus, Ohio, Barbara (John) Leech of Groveport, Ohio, Betty Ragland of Norristown, Pennsylvania, Mary (Jeff) Beard of Jackson, Ohio and Dorthy (Chancey) Valentine of Jackson, Ohio; brother, Ernest Ragland of Columbus, Ohio along with several nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.
“Sonny” was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and watching old westerns on TV.
