Jason Lee Steele, Sr., age 43, of West Blocton, Alabama, and a former resident of Wellston, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at his home. He was born Aug. 5, 1973 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Roger Randolph “Randy” Steele and Phyllis Robinson Steele. Jason worked for Southern Hauler in Calera, Alabama. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, rock hunting, derby cars, mushroom hunting and spending time with his four dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jones Steele; mother, Phyllis Robinson Steele; mother-in-law, Rita Holstein; daughters, Sadie Sides (Austin) and Whitney Steele (Kelly Cardiff); son, Jason Lee Steele, Jr.; grandchildren, Jasmine, Emmrie, Kelly, Jr., and special grandson, Micah Austin Lee Sides, Jr.; grandparents, Ronald and Rita Campbell; brothers, Brian Steele (Amy), Jonathon Steele, Terry Molihan (Jeanetta) and Nathan Molihan (Amanda); sisters, Dana Steele (Billy Saylor), Ashley Clark and Jody Shotts (Dohn); brothers-in-law, Tim Jones (Audrey) and Jim Holstein (Misty), along with several special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Roger Randolph “Randy” Steele; special aunt, Jacquelene “Jackie” Molihan; and uncles, John Loudermilk and Harley Beverly.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.
