Margaret Louise Wilson

Margaret Louise Wilson, age 93, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Holzer Assisted Living in Jackson, Ohio. She was born Feb. 5, 1924 in Wellston, Ohio, daughter of the late Clifford Converse Welch and Ada Marie Grady Welch.

Louise was a 1942 graduate of Wellston High School. She was a former secretary and bookkeeper at Morrow Manufacturing Co., Buckeye Furnace Mining Co. and Stiffler’s Department Store in Jackson, and then later retired from Smith-Chambers in Wellston. Louise was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church in Wellston, and in her spare time, she was always reading the newspaper, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy on television. In her younger days, Louise was an avid bowler and she enjoyed playing canasta. She was also an avid Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Louise is survived by her children, Jan Thomas (Marc), Sally Wilson and Bob Wilson, all of Wellston; six grandchildren, Brandon Thomas (Katie), Abby Sturgill (Josh Smith), Renee Kuenzli (Jon), Jason Wilson (Jessie), Nichele Wilson and Nathan Wilson (Alisha Durham); great-grandchildren, Riley, Ella, Jasmyn, Jarrett, Brennen, Breyson and Emerie; and step-great-grandchildren, Macie, Maggie and Mason.

Besides her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Thorton R. Wilson in 2006; daughter-in-law, Missy Wilson; sisters, Marcella Trainer and Freda Welch; and infant brother, Freddie Welch.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with John Pelletier, CLP officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
