Brice Edward Henry, Sr.

SSGT Brice Edward Henry, Sr., 78, went home with his Lord while surrounded by his family Monday evening, Feb. 27, 2017, at his home in Wellston. He was born in Wellston, Ohio, Aug. 27, 1938, to the late Charles Willard Henry, Sr. and Florence Rozetta Deal Henry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam era and was later a member of the Ohio Air National Guard. He was retired from the CSX Railroad where he was a supervisor. He loved to read about military history and kept up with current military news. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife on March 14, 2006, Margaret Majel Henry; a grandson, James Mitchell Adkins II; and two brothers, Fred Henry and Charles “Bud” Henry, Jr.

He is survived by his son, Brice Henry, Jr. (Jennifer A.) of Wellston; his daughters, Sherry Atkins (James) of Richwood, Ohio, Pamela Fravel (Larry) of Etna, Ohio, and Cindy Jewell of Jackson, Ohio; four brothers, Richard Henry (Jean) of Wellston, Herb Henry (Harriet) of Washington C.H., Ohio, Don Henry (Della) of Wellston, and John Henry (Marsha) of Jackson; a sister, Dorothy Hall (Albert) of McArthur; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a soon expected great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Jenkins Chapel with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery with military honor services by American Legion Post #371 of Wellston and DAV Chapter 45.
