Raymond Arthurs, age 86, of Jackson, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 at Holzer of Gallipolis. He was born in Scioto County on July 3, 1930 to the late Homer and Nora (Yeley) Arthur.
He is survived by daughter, Sharon Crabtree of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren, Wendy (Tim) James of Jackson, Ohio and Leslie (Kip) Bryant of Chillicothe, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Whitney James, Greg (Jarin) James, and Courtney (Todd) Durham; great-great-grandchildren, Harper and Wyatt James; three sisters: Carol Arthur of South Webster, Ohio, Betty Reese of Grove City, Ohio, and Ann (Ron) Woods of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers: Charles (Rosie) Arthur and Robert Arthur, all of Jackson, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Wastier) Arthurs and eight brothers and sisters.
He retired from the 7-Up bottling company and Goodyear. He enjoyed bluegrass music and camping.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Fred Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Cemetery.
