Lloyd “Skip” Haynes

Lloyd “Skip” Haynes, age 81, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio, on July 3, 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents, Parker and Stella Haynes.

Lloyd came here from Akron, Ohio and was retired from Goodyear, where he was a Manager of Safety and Training; he was a U.S. Army veteran. He graduated from University of Akron (Class of 1958); was a member of Lone Star Fraternity, active in Franklin Valley Golf Club, where he served on the board and was a past president; worked with Habitat for Humanity; was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Vintage Club at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Wellston, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth “Betsy” Haynes; sons: Richard (Marilyn) Haynes, Stephen (Natalie) Haynes and Mark (Sherry) Haynes; grandchildren, Browning and Parker and a brother, Lee Haynes.

Friends may call at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Friday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Wellston, Ohio, with Father Donald Maroon officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
