By | October 6, 2016

Margaret “Maggie” Dunn Cheek, age 55, of Wellston, departed this life, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday evening, October 5, 2016 at Edgewood Manor of Wellston. She was born March 1, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan to Audrey Bentley Dunn and Dan Dunn.

Maggie was a 1979 graduate of Oak Hill High School and also a graduate of Clark Community College in 2006. Maggie had a love of collecting turtles. She had many turtles given to her over the years, which she cherished and was able to tell you who had given her each one. Also, she loved her dog, Paddy, and his companionship. Her faithful friend Paddy will go on to live with family.

The one thing everyone needs to know is that Maggie enjoyed every precious moment spent with family and friends….she loved you all.

Maggie is survived by her loving family, including grandsons, Hunter Cruse, Gary Cruse and Nehemiah Roe, all of Jackson; her granddaughter, Lily Cruse of Dawsonville, Georgia; siblings, James “Jimmy” Dunn of Wellston, Patricia Lanzon of Canton, Michigan, Anthony Lanzon (Sherry Grove) of Sturgis, Michigan, and Melissa Streeter of Bremen, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Dunn; mother and step-father, who raised her, Audrey and Thomas Lanzon; her son, Jeremiah Cruse; and her siblings, Donald Bentley, Morene Tillotson and Mary Lisa Lanzon.

The family would like to thank everyone, whether family or friends, for helping Maggie through her difficult journey with cancer. A special thank you to those who helped with her care at the end of her journey and who were present in the days leading up to her passing. God bless you all!
