Elwood James “Jake” Rawlins

Elwood James “Jake” Rawlins, 46, of McArthur, passed away on August 31, 2016 after a long battle with cancer, at Winchester Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canal Winchester. He was born on June 10, 1970 in Gallipolis, Ohio son of the late William and Rita (Holtz) Rawlins.

Jake was a talented mechanic who delighted in working on race cars and dump trucks. He would help anyone in need, especially the elderly. An avid outdoors-man, he enjoyed walking but most of all he liked spending time with his family.

He is survived by his four brothers: John (Becky) Rawlins, Mark (Sherry) Maddox, Doug (Stella) Maddox, and William (Karen) Rawlins; as well as several nephews.

A graveside service celebrating Jake’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2016 in Salem Cemetery, Wellston, where he will be laid to rest beside his parents. Pastor Michael Jadrnicek officiating.
