Rachel Elizabeth Coyan Tripp

Rachel Elizabeth Coyan Tripp, age 34, suffered cardiac arrest and later passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. She was born on August 16, 1982 to Tom and Carole Coyan, who survive.

Rachel was an excellent student, excited to be entering her junior year at Ohio University, Chillicothe, Ohio, majoring in Psychology. She loved all types of music, especially her niece Colleen’s flute solos.

Participating in family activities and traditions was of utmost importance to her. She loved all animals, caring not only for her own but strays that came around.

In addition to her parents, Rachel is survived by her beloved husband, Brandon Tripp; in-laws, Mike and Darlene Wyant; brother and family, Aaron, Alice and Colleen Coyan; nephew Dakota; brothers-in-law, Eric Davis and Chris (Julie) Tripp; sister-in-law, Alisha Bishop; many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

She was preceded in death by her adored brother, Bryan; maternal and paternal grandparents, Harold and Mary Wilson and William and Blanche Coyan, respectively.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Rachel Coyan Tripp Scholarship Fund, in care of the Jackson City Schools. This scholarship will be granted to a student going to Ohio University, majoring in Psychology.

Funeral service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Friday, September 2, at 6 p.m. with Pastor Perry Bradford officiating.
