Audrey Potts Chambers

Audrey Potts Chambers, 100, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at Ohio Health-Med Central Hospice in Mansfield. She was born in Wellston, Ohio on December 8, 1915, to the late Pearl and Grace Roof Potts.

A wonderful, caring person who always gave of herself, she helped and supported her family in any way she could. Her native skills were displayed in the beautiful embroidery and needlework creations for which she was famous. She did babysitting for families who couldn’t afford day-care costs, and these children remembered her years later by sending her over 50 Christmas cards every year. She was an avid reader and loved working puzzles.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death in 1994 by her husband, Earl Chambers; two daughters, Naomi Gettins and Margaret Henry; twin sister Ada Pendleton; sisters Verlie Salts and Ardale Boring; and a brother, Roy Potts.

Surviving is a son, Harlin (Anne) Chambers of Mansfield; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Burial for Audrey Chambers will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Radcliff Cemetery under the direction of the Jenkins Funeral Chapel of Wellston. Online condolences may be made at www.samjenkinsfuneralchapel.com
