Mary M. Oiler

Mary M. Oiler, age 79, of Jackson, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Edgewood Manor in Wellston. She was born in Jackson, Ohio on January 4, 1937 to the late Haldor and Pansy (Cline) Albert.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Perry Oliver Albert and Charles Eugene Albert; and a sister, Nancy Albert Miller.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Hayden Oiler; daughter, Robin (Geoff) Smith; granddaughter, Delaney Manko Smith; and sisters: Janet (Mike) Sharp, Karen (Fred) Norman, Clara (Chris) Mullins and Barbara (Larry) Farrar.

Mary retired from Columbia Gas as an office manager after 32 years. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1954 as the class valedictorian. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, and a member of the VFW #8402, Moose Lodge # 3000, Amvets #84 and Eagles #3665. She also enjoyed bowling, reading, sewing and her family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Heather Malott officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests the consideration of donations to the following: Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnett Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45229; Jackson County Senior Citizens, 25 E. Mound St., Jackson, Ohio 45640; and the Markay Cultural Arts Center, 269 E. Main St., Jackson, Ohio 45640.
