Ethel L. (Dever) Parks

Ethel L. (Dever) Parks, age 96, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Four Winds Nursing Home in Jackson following a stroke a week earlier. She was born March 29, 1920 in Minford, Ohio to the late Orel and Clara (Herrmann) Dever.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Parks; and three sisters, Helen (Dever) Preston, Dorothy (Dever) Silvey and Erma (Dever) Buckle.

She is survived by her two daughters, Peggy (Parks) Lawrence and Janet (Parks) Hammond; beloved grandchildren, Andrew Charles (Daphne) Lawrence, Daniel Edward (Diane) Lawrence and Holly (Brett) Hammond-Jordan; great-grandchildren, Erica Lawrence Johnson, Jacob Parks Lawrence, Jonathon Lawrence, Chloe Elizabeth Lawrence, Toby Pasquale Lawrence, Ashley (Tony) Lawrence-Mazza and Andrew Casey Lawrence. She loved all her family beyond measure.

Ethel graduated from Minford High School. She was a lifetime member of the Hamilton Christian Church. She was an expert at hand quilting, crocheting and many other handcrafts. She made quilts for each of her children, grandchildren and their spouses. Friends were also recipients of her beautiful hand work.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Hamilton Christian Church, on Lenhart Road with Pastor Larry Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Cemetery.
