W.A. Tomblin Jr., age 80, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Jenkins Care Community. W.A. was a charter member of the Paul’s Chapel United Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a minister in 1985. He served several offices and pastored the church for many years. He was a faithful servant within the church, and sang in a quartet most of his Christian life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce (Conley) Tomblin; two daughters: Brenda (John) Booth and Pamela (Oscar) Miller; two brothers: Walter Tomblin and Claude Tomblin; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Joshua) Paden, Angela (Logan) Mark, Donald (Erica) Booth, Adam (Joanna) Miller, Nathaniel (Hilary) Miller, and Ladina (George) Metzler; and 12 great-grandchildren.

W.A. was preceded in death by his parents, William Albert Tomblin Sr. and Elsie (Maynard) Tomblin; six sisters: Mary Bachtel, Georgia Ramey, Hazel Tomblin, Dorthea Freeman, Augusta Romans, and Odessa Blackburn; one brother, Willis Tomblin; and one great-granddaughter, Julia Miller.

W.A. was loved by many and will be missed by many.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Paul’s Chapel Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the church with Elder Ray Williamson and Elder Ed Culwell officiating. Burial will follow in Paul’s Chapel Cemetery.
