Gary E. Cash, age 71, of Jackson, formerly of Richmondale, went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 1, 2016. He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on June 22, 1945 to the late Troy “Buck” and Kathleen “Kay” (Delaney) Cash.
He is survived by his wife of almost 46 years, Dale Cash; sons, Eric Cash, Matt Cash, all of Jackson; grandchildren, J.C., Troy, Caleb and Alexis Cash, all of Jackson; and brother, Randy (Rebecca) Cash, of Richmondale. Also surviving are numerous other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Strausbaugh and an infant son, Jeffery Scott Cash.
Gary was a former substitute teacher at numerous local schools for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked at AutoZone and Chillicothe Correctional Institute. He retired as a school teacher and a veteran’s representative with the Jackson County Job and Family Services. He was also a member of multiple veteran organizations and a member of the Jackson Nazarene Church.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Pastor Steve Roach officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery with military funeral honors by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 45 of Jackson.
