Denise Gilliland, age 63, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at home surrounded by family. She was born June 17, 1952 to the late Edgar and Kathleen (Landrum) Foster. She was a graduate of Jackson High School, class of 1970.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant sister, Francis and a nephew, Floyd Matthew Rose.
Denise is survived by her husband, Steve “Frog” Gilliland, of Jackson; daughters, Shanna (Arrick) Boggs, of Oak Hill and Bethany (Jim) McCarty, of Jackson; and the reason she fought so hard for so long, she was mammy to Brynna and Darrick Boggs and Grant, Luke and Owen McCarty. She is also survived by sister, Debbie (Floyd) Rose, of Jackson; brothers, Greg (Brenda) Foster, of Wellston, Stephen Foster (Stuart Morrell), of Waverly; brother-in-law, Jim (Kay) Gilliland and Monte (Linda) Gilliland, both of Jackson and Kay (John) Brown, of Freemont, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her grandchildren, she enjoyed gardening, her flower beds and sewing.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Rev. Janie Karl officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
