Harold W. Vickers, age 80, of Hamden, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at home. He was born June 8, 1935 in Wellston, Ohio, the son of the late Dellos Boyed and Bessie Irene Cooper Vickers.
Harold was a 1955 graduate of Wellston High School, where he was very active in Wellston Rocket football, as well as all other high school sports. Harold, a veteran of the United States Army, was a retired construction worker. He was a proud member of the Community of Christ Church in McArthur, a member of the Wellston Senior Citizens and he enjoyed line dancing.
Harold is survived by his brothers and sisters, Dellos Vickers of Wellston, Effie Fay Ayers of Sunbury, Joan Gibson of Florida, Roger Vickers of Kentucky, Janie Compston of Wellston, Prell Vickers of Columbus and Kay Loudner of Georgia, along with several nieces nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday at 3 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home.
