Marcella Fern Adkins, age 89 of Oak Hill, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born in Oak Hill, Ohio on June 30, 1926 to the late Ora and Martha (Radabaugh) Snyder.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Clyde Adkins; son and daughter-in-law Rudy and Lucy Snyder; sisters: Margaret French, Virgie Milhoan, Anna Jean Smith, Carol Hildabrandt and Donna Snyder; and two grandchildren: Ryan Dearing and Shelia Baker. She is survived by her children: Dean (Donna) Snyder of Oak Hill, Janice (Marvin) Dearing of Jackson, Gale Snyder of Oak Hill and Jeff (Donna) Adkins of Coal Grove. Also surviving are a sister, Phyllis Folk, 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Fern was a member of the Old Emory Freewill Baptist Church, enjoyed traveling and eating out!
Funeral services will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6 with Pastor Fred Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Emory Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home 2 hours prior to the service from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6.
