Velcie Hackney, age 66, a resident of Jenkins Memorial of Wellston, passed away on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016. She was born on February 6th, 1950, the daughter of the late Jack and Julie Wilson of Bull Mountain, Virginia.
She is survived by her children, Harold (Brenda) Hackney, of Haysi Virginia, Mark (Valerie) Hackney, of Oak Hill, Ohio and Regina (Grant) Prater, of McArthur, Ohio, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by several friends she considered family that she has made over her many years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with burial to follow at C.M. Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 11 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
