Samuel Lee Davis

Samuel Lee Davis, age 48, of Oak Hill, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at his home. He was born May 10, 1967 in Jackson to the late William R. and Opal O. Davis.

He is survived by his wife, April (Burton) Davis, of Oak Hill; children, Richie Davis, Devon Davis, Logan Davis and Brittany Hunt; granddaughter, Alexis Davis; siblings, Barbara (Elwood) Kegley, Virginia Freeman, Dick (Wanda) Davis and Michelle Adkins (Ronnie); step brothers, C.J. Brown (Cheryl) and Jeff Brown (Pam); mother and father-in-law, Chester and Peggy Burton; sister-in-law, Jamie (Rick) Barnhart; a special great-great-nephew, Collin Cardiff, who Sam loved dearly and appreciated as well as a host of family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Viola Sturgill and Lorraine Davis; infant bother, Barry Allan and step mother, Nellie Brown Davis.

Sam graduated from Oak Hill High School and Buckeye Hills in 1985. He was employed for 23 years at Bellisio Foods, where he started in 1992. His job was his life and he loved all the people. He loved to hunt, fish and camp outdoors. He was an instigator of a lot of humor. He loved his extended family of three generations. His joy was being with all of his family and his friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with Pastor Dean Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Horeb Cemetery.
