Kenneth Richard Israel, age 81, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at his home. He was born April 15, 1934 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Kirby and Olive (Wiseman) Israel.

“Kenny” as he was known to his family was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Franklin Valley Golf Course. He was a self-employed trucker who thoroughly enjoyed his work. Kenny was also a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and he truly loved the Lord.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Peggy Rawlins Israel; brother, Frank (Toby) Mapes; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Christman officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
