Marsha Karen Stone

By | December 21, 2015

Marsha Karen Stone, age 67, of Jackson, Ohio, left her earthly home and family for her heavenly one on December 19, 2015 at Holzer of Jackson. She was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on March 3, 1948 to the late Willard and Myrtle Conley. The family moved to Ohio when she was five.

She was a 1966 graduate of Jackson High School and attended Cosmetology school in Washington Courthouse. Over the years, she worked as a beautician and florist. She was also employed by the Atomic Plant where she met her husband, Al. All throughout her life she loved to babysit children for family and friends.

She loved and served the Lord. She was a member of her parents’ church, Candy Run in Lucasville. She attended Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church where she was a youth leader for many years. She also attended Wesley United Methodist Church later in life. She enjoyed participating in church functions at all three.

She enjoyed flower arranging, cooking, quilting, working on the family farm, and just being outside. Christmas was her favorite time of the year and she loved everything about it. The thing she loved most of all was caring for and being with her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.

“Grammy” cherished and loved dearly her grandchildren. They brought her more joy than they will ever know. She was hard-working, caring, kind, and had amazing strength. She could make you feel like the most important person in the world. Her love, influence, and spark will be desperately missed by all, but her legacy will carry on with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Al Stone; son, Chris (Ellen) Stone; daughter, Amy (Patrick) Armstrong; grandchildren: Ella, Isaiah, Avery, and Abel Armstrong and Adalyn, Nora, and Ariana Stone; uncle, Charles Conley; siblings: David (Susan) Conley, Gerald (Pat) Conley, and Kim Conley; nephews, Patrick Conley and Josh Conley; step-niece, Amy Dickason; as well as numerous cousins, friends, and extended family including all of her “adopted” grandchildren. The family would also like to express their gratitude to BJ Blackburn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Willa and Pete Stone; grandson, Owen Armstrong; sister-in-law, Sandy Conley; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Private graveside services will follow.
