Phyllis J. Jayjohn, age 77, of Wellston, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born August 11, 1938 in Logan, W.Va., the daughter of the late Herbert Browning and Esta Bertha Fraley Finn and Robert Finn.

Phyllis was a former tutor for GED students at the Wellston Public Library and she was a loving caregiver, wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, enjoyed poetry and was a collector of Depression glass, but above all, her passion in life was her family.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Jann Ratcliff (Ron) of Jackson, Amber Jayjohn of Gallipolis, Curtiss Jayjohn (Michele) of Jackson, Bobette Darling (David) of Marietta and Autumn Walker (Tony) of Wellston; grandchildren, Ryan, Tami, Jeremiah, Erick, Barrett, Hannah, Danielle, Ambrosia and Cash; great-grandchildren, Sami, Lindsay, Jenna, Brynn, Aidan, Lennon, Cash, Jr., Patricia, Gabriel, Azriel, and triplets on the way; brother, Elisha Ray Watts (Jo) of Florida; special sister-in-law, Gail Jayjohn of Miamisburg, Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Eddie Jayjohn (Julie) of Miamisburg, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 56 years, Homer F. “Buddy” Jayjohn, in 2014; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Harry Newlon; brother-in-law, Ovid “Junie” Jayjohn; and nephews, Eric and Evan Jayjohn and Tommy Matteson.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Will Gillem officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
