Clarence E. “Gene” Welch

Clarence Eugene “Gene” Welch, age 75, of Oak Hill, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 7, 2015 surrounded by his family at home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Gene was born in Oak Hill, Ohio on April 4, 1940 to the late Clarence Welch and Mollie (Nichols) Welch of Oak Hill.

Gene is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beulah (Barnhart) Welch of Oak Hill, Ohio; daughters: Gean Ann (Hubert) Davis of Oak Hill, Ohio, Tammy (Mike) French of Oak Hill, Ohio and Heather (Brad) Zornes of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren: Katie (Brandon) House of Oak Hill, Ohio, Bradly Davis and fiancé Kirstin Leonard of Oak Hill, Ohio, Mikka French and fiancé Kyle Wells of Proctorville, Ohio, Levi Davis of Oak Hill, Ohio, Drew Zornes of Jackson, Ohio, and Alyssa Zornes of Jackson, Ohio; and great-granddaughter, Hadly House of Oak Hill, Ohio. Gene is also survived by his mother, Mollie Welch of Oak Hill, Ohio; brothers, Larry (Linda) Welch of Jackson, Ohio and Donald (Vickie) Welch of Gallia, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and very special friends.

In addition to his father, Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Myron Welch.

Gene was a proud Army veteran, and was retired from AP Green. He was a member of the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, wood working, watching westerns, and time with his family.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bryan Malott officiating.
