Mark D. Sherwood

Mark D. Sherwood, age 55, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, October 22, 2015, at his home. He was born June 21, 1960 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Luther James Sherwood and Mildred Louise DeVol Sherwood.

Mark was a 1978 graduate of Wellston High School. He was employed by Kroger for 37 years and was presently the head meat cutter at the Wellston Kroger store. Mark was a member of the Black Diamond Lodge #538 F&AM and he enjoyed golfing, traveling and cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Lisa Downard of Wellston; former wife, Kim McKitterick Sherwood of Jackson; sons, Joshua J. Sherwood and Nathan Darren Sherwood (Lacey), all of Jackson; step-son, Corey McLain of Columbus; granddaughter, Kennedy; uncle, Bill DeVol of Arizona; aunts, Rita Gray and Donnie Hutchison, both of Wellston, and cousins, Mike DeVol, Melissa DeVol Rumbold and Scott Schneider, all of Colorado, and Vickie Gilliland of Wellston.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Joshua J. Sherwood officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
