Betty M. Jarvis, age 89, of Wellston, passed away Sunday morning, October 18, 2015 at Four Winds Community in Jackson, Ohio. She was born September 20, 1926 in Jackson County, Ohio the daughter of the late Alfred and Grace Kisor Bishop.
Betty was a 1944 graduate of Wellston High School. She was a loving homemaker and a faithful and devoted Christian. Betty was a member of the Zion #3 Church in Wellston and the Country Gals Club.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Sharon Jarvis of Wellston; granddaughters, Amber Snow (Troy) of Coalton, April Phillips of Wellston and Alana Edwards (Scott) of Chillicothe; great-grandchildren, Matt Phillips, Katy and Kelly Snow and Eric and Neysea Edwards; sister, Alene Gould of Wellston; sister-in-law, Rita Bishop of Wellston as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Howard “Harlo” Jarvis; sister, Norma Hughes; and brothers, Tom, John, Rick and Dick Bishop.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev.
