Doris Jeanne Stone, 84, of Raymond died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at her residence.
She was employed as a secretary/receptionist with Worthington Industries for 21 years before retiring in June of 1991. She attended Old Union Church of Christ and was a 1949 graduate of Hamden High School. Doris enjoyed gardening and flowers and took great pride in mowing her yard and clearing her woods.
She was born June 27, 1931, in Wellston to the late Lawrence and Minnie Katherine Henneman Thompson, Sr. She married Ralph Leon Stone on May 8, 1949, in Hamden, and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1978. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Thompson, Jr. and Joseph Thompson.
Survivors include a son, Robert Keith (Cheryl) Stone, of Florida; 3 granddaughters: Angell Renee (Steve) Nichols, Arrin Marie (Dwayne) Whitt, and Aimee Christine (Robert) Bowers; 4 great-grandchildren: Taylor Marie Whitt, Kuane Warren Whitt, Brenna Margarite Bowers and Ronan Bowers; brother, Ronald Thompson, of Jackson; 2 sisters: Nellie Kathrine (Robert) Stauffer, of Florida; and Patricia (David) Henry, of Jackson; and a sister-in-law, Olive “Jane” Brown, of Columbus.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 26, at Jenkins Funeral Home 110 E. 2nd St. Wellston. Burial will follow at the Hamden Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, September 25, at the Mannasmith Funeral Home 621 W. Fifth St. Marysville, OH.
