Donald Richard “Dick” Evans

Donald Richard “Dick” Evans, formerly of Oak Hill, Ohio, most recently from Olive Branch, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by members of his loving family on September 3, 2015. He was born in Oak Hill on April 19, 1940 and was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary (Allen) Evans and twin sisters, Jean and Joan.

He was a 1958 graduate of Oak Hill High School. He served in the United States Army in the 1960s. He began work at Ashland Oil as an executive where he retired.

Surviving are his wife, Susie (Riley) Evans; four daughters, Kristi Buchanan, Kelli (John) Doss, Ashley Land, and Britni (Michael) MacMillan; four grandchildren, Matt Doss, Evan Doss, Hannah Doss and Landon MacMillan, all of Mississippi; two brothers, Eddie Lee (Marlene) Evans and Danny (Lynette) Evans; and cousin, Jane Ann Jones and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio with Rev. Herman Stewart and Pastor David Staiger officiating. Burial will follow in Horeb Cemetery with a military graveside service by the Disabled American Veterans post 45 of Jackson. Friends may call Tuesday from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
