Donald C. Bailey

Donald Clinton Bailey, age 80, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He was born November 14, 1934 in Minford, Ohio to the late James Clinton and Emma Victoria (Burchett) Bailey.

He is survived by his wife, Shelva Jean (Maynard) Bailey; daughters, Sharon Kay Bachtel and Donna Gayle (Joe) Cole; grandchildren: Angie (Donnie) Waldren, Brian (Chrissy) Bachtel, Jon (Nicki) Creech, and LeighAnn Kay; great-grandchildren: Jacob Waldren, Michael Linton, Kyle Creech, Brook Creech, Jossie Bachtel, Cole Bachtel, Kylee Waldren, Baylee Waldren, and Mason Creech; sisters, Dorothy Hoop and Wilma Lewallen; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debby Creech; son-in-law, Albert Creech; sisters, Esther Crabtree and Audrey Bailey; brothers, Chester Bailey and Avery Bailey.

Donald was a 1953 graduate of Jackson High School. He retired from Armco in Middletown, Ohio. He was also a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was also a member of the Frenchburg, Kentucky First Church of God where he professed his faith in the Lord.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 11-2pm at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A service will immediately follow at 2pm with Pastor Roger H. Wells officiating.
