Charlean Betty Morris

Charlean Betty Morris, 87, of Jackson, formerly of Oak Hill, passed away on July 13, 2015 at Four Winds Nursing Home. She was born on March 18, 1928 in Hamden, Ohio, daughter of the late Leo and Mabel (England) Leach. Betty was a member of the Savageville United Methodist Church, was a homemaker, and very much enjoyed being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving family: three daughters, Mary Canter, Bessie Morris, and Mabel (Jeff) Tipton; five grandchildren, David Canter, Thressa Henderson, Jonna (Devin) Johnson, Yvonne (Stephen) Coleman, and Clayton Tipton; two great-grandchildren, Halie Canter and Adalynn Brooke Coleman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Morris (2005), whom she married on October 7, 1966; daughter, Carrie Dunn (2005); six brothers, Jim, Noah, John, George, and Arthur Leach, and Robert Thompson; as well as three sisters, Darlean McClain, Pearlean and Geraldean Leach.

A funeral service celebrating Betty’s life will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of R. M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Hamden Cemetery.
