Wanda Lou Simmering, 72, of Jackson, earned the wings of an angel June 23, 2015 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Minford, Ohio on August 14, 1942 to the late Homer and Nora Arthur. She was a 1960 graduate of Jackson High School. The largest portion of her life was found in devotion to her family. Being a proud mother of two, along with a caring wife to Lehman, Wanda never lost time for her family. She was immensely involved with grandchildren as well, who proved to be an imperative aspect of her days. Wanda will always be remembered for the outstanding baked goods she prepared for celebrations, holidays and dinners. The love and time she put into baking, reflected the love and time and she put into her family.

Besides her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Arthur and Clarence “Bud” Arthur; one sister, Genieve “Sis” Smith; and one great-granddaughter, Halley Jane Victoria Kille.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lehman K Simmering; one son, Karl “Tony” (Tammy) Simmering; one daughter, Lena (Brian) Stiltner of Jackson. Also surviving are grandchildren, Bridgette (Jeff) Chandler of Jackson, Karl (Kassandra) Simmering of Chillicothe, Anthony (Jammie) Clark of Jackson, Joseph Simmering of Jackson, Ashley (Andrew) Christman, and Celeste Stiltner, also of Jackson; five great-grandchildren, Destiny Kille, Kalix Chandler, Blayze Clark, Izaiah Kerr, and Addyson Christman, all of Jackson; three sisters, Ann (Ron) Woods of Columbus, Betty Reese of Grove City, and Carolyn Raynard of South Webster; three brothers, Raymond Arthur, Charlie (Rosie) Arthur, and Robert Arthur, all of Jackson.
