Anita Rose (McNerlin) Walker, age 52, of Chillicothe, Ohio and formerly of Jackson, Ohio passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born October 20, 1962 in Oak Hill, Ohio to John E. McNerlin and the late Kay L. McNerlin who passed away in November of 2014.
She is survived by her sons, John Walker of Jackson, Ohio and Shane (Tiffany) Walker of Waverly, Ohio; grandchildren, Allen Roberts and Aubree Walker both of Chillicothe, Ohio; father, John E. McNerlin of Jackson, Ohio; sisters, Sharon (Melissa) Smith of Chillicothe, Ohio and Grace (Tim) Phillips of Jackson, Ohio; brother, John D. (Sandy) McNerlin of Waverly, Ohio; a special nephew and niece, John (Donna) Phillips and Alyssa and Hailie; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Daniel and Anna Jenkins of Jackson, Ohio; and paternal grandparents, Danny and Sadie McNerlin of Oak Hill, Ohio.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Anita’s long-term caregivers, Dorena Fischer and Michele Clark who cared for her at her home. Also thanks to Alisha of Adena Palliative Care and the team of caregivers at Westmoreland Place of Chillicothe.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Jorge Anido officiating at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery. Visitation will be immediately prior on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
