Frances L. Vicars

Frances L. Vicars, 86, of Wellston, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Holzer-Jackson ER. She had been a resident of the Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. She was born on September 29, 1928, in Greenup County, Kentucky, to the late Henry Thomas Skeens and Mary Burns Skeens. She was a homemaker and a member of the former Trinity United Methodist Church in Wellston.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Colleen K. Oiler Vicars, in December 1999, and a brother, Curtis Skeens.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William J. Vicars; a son, William C. Vicars ( Cheryl) of Wellston; a daughter, Kathleen Vicars, of Wellston; a brother, R.W. Skeens, of South Webster, Ohio; and two sisters, Betty Roush of West Columbia, West Virginia, and Bonnie Crabtree (Keith) of Minford, Ohio.

The family invites friends to a graveside service on Wednesday, April 15, at 2 p.m. at the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston. Pastor Leland Brehm will officiate the services. Memorials in Frances’ name may be made to the Grace Baptist Church of Wellston or the Hope United Methodist Church of Wellston.

Arrangements are by the Jenkins Funeral Chapel of Wellston.
