Bruce David Smith, age 50, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Holzer of Jackson. He was born June 29, 1964 in Oak Hill, Ohio to Howard L. Smith, former long-time Oak Hill Union Schools Superintendent, and Carnell (Chandler) Smith of Oak Hill, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by brother, Barry L. (Marsha) Smith of Jackson, Ohio; niece, Jillian Paige Smith of Bellevue, Kentucky; his life-long best friend, Bruce Humphreys; as well as many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The most important years of his life were spent in the classroom. He retired from the Oak Hill School system. He touched countless students’ lives throughout his career.
A public graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 2 p.m. at C.M. Cemetery with Rev. Pat King officiating.
