Scott Davis Elliott

By | March 17, 2015

Scott Davis Elliott went to Heaven on Friday, March 13, at 8:20 in the evening. He had been at Riverside Methodist Hospital while being treated for complications with COPD. Scott was 57 years old. His cousin Bryn and her family were present at his passing. As Bryn said so beautifully, “I’m glad we were here. Although sad, I have to say the presence of the Lord is here. There is and has been an overwhelming peace. I’ve never experienced anything like this.”

On Wednesday afternoon, the Hospital Chaplain served communion in the ICU with all six siblings, wives, nieces and nephews, as well other friends.

Scott was born on May 1, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio, the second child to David and Carole Davis Elliott. He attended Medina Valley Schools while growing up in Castroville, Texas, and graduated in 1976 from Jackson High School.

Scott was known by many and had a sweet and loving spirit. He enjoyed family and friends and wanted everyone to be his friend. Scott accepted Christ as his personal Savior many years ago and the peace that passes understanding brings us great joy with the faith in his eternal life.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. David and Carole Elliott. He is survived by his siblings – Dirk (Tricia) Elliott of Linden, Michigan, Tom (Lisa) Elliott of Jackson, Nick (Rhonda) Elliott of Jackson, Jenny (Dave) Paugh of Siler City, NC, and Matt (Denise) Elliott of Canal Winchester, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.

Calling hours will be Thursday, March 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 20 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Zion Cemetery in Thurman, Ohio. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillumfuneralhomes.com
