James W. Kessler

James W. Kessler, Sr. age 95, of Vinton, passed away Wednesday evening, February 11, 2015, at his home. He was born September 23, 1919 in Wilkesville, Ohio to the late Pearl A. Kessler and Rachel Hartley Kessler.

Jim was a 1939 graduate of Canton High School and a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wellston. He retired from Frick-Gallagher Manufacturing in Wellston in 1996, where he was employed for over 45 years.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James W. Kessler, Jr. and Wylodine of Hamden; two grandchildren, James Scott Kessler of Hamden and Angela Dempsey (Todd) of Jackson; as well as six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mildred E. Huffman Kessler in 2010; daughter, Sandra L. Kessler; grandson, Timothy Kessler, and several brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Homer with John Pelletier, CLP officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
