Doretha J. Wyant

Doretha J. Wyant, age 67, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on March 11, 1947 to the late Willis E. and Carrie (Alexander) Adams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lou Ira “Jay” Wyant and daughter, Melissa Anderson.

She is survived by three sons, Charles “Scott” Wyant, Timothy (Tracey) J. Wyant and George E. Wyant; two brothers, Willis E. (Mildred) Adams Jr. and William “Bill” (Judy) Adams; five sisters, Marie Cuckler, Georgia (Roger) Lintz, Deborah (Dave) Rhodes, Cora Rutter and Vickie Perkins; eight grandchildren: Leah, Brittany, R.J., Alexis, Jason, Paige, Ruthie and Jade; and four great-grandchildren, Dakota, Braiden, Nicholas and Kendrick.

Doretha was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher, and she loved to read. She was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Friends may call Sunday, Feb. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home where funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. with Dobie Wyant officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery.
