On Tuesday, January 6, 2015, Jimmy “Chops” Fortune passed away from an extended battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Fortune; his mother, Jettie Fortune; two brothers, and several grandchildren.
Chops is survived by his wife, Melody Fortune; and his children, Sherry Wright, Chuck Fortune, Robin Fortune, Donna Puckett, Danyelle Speakman, Angela Talbert, Justin Fortune, and Clifton Fortune. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Kincaid and Rev. Randy Terry officiating. Friends may call Saturday, January 10, 2015, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
