Peggy Sue Dixon

Peggy Sue Dixon, 60, of Wellston, was embraced by her parents on Tuesday morning, October 28, 2014, at her home.

She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, on October 24, 1954, to the late Thomas Fredrick Leach and the late Martha Mae Farrar Leach.

She was a 1972 graduate of Jackson High School and a graduate of Hocking Tech where she earned her LPN title. She worked for 33 years at the former Meridian plant in Jackson. She was a member of the American Legion Post #371 of Wellston Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed participating in the Wellston Rotary Club’s Minstrels. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Jackson. In her spare time she loved quilting.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death in 1973 by an infant daughter, Debra Sue Dixon, and two brothers, Thomas Leach Jr. and Floyd Leach.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Michael C. Dixon; two daughters, Amy M. Wyant (Rick Arthur) and Charlene Sue Dixon; two brothers and their wives, Warner and Veronica Leach of Tucson, Arizona, and Jeff and Lynn Leach of Concord, North Carolina; a sister, Jeanne Leach, of Jackson, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kele, Alex, and Jade Wyant; and several nieces and nephews.

The family invites friends to a celebration of life service for Peggy at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston to be held on Saturday, November 8, with Pastor Dave Roach officiating. Friends will be received from 12 p.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Peggy’s name be made to the Jackson County Unit of the American Cancer Society.
