Rebecca S. Hodgson

Rebecca S. Hodgson, 90, of Mesa AZ, peacefully entered into the rest of Jesus Christ her Savior on the morning of July 21, 2014. Rebecca was born to James W. and Georgia Howe Swingle on January 17, 1924 in Jackson.

After graduating from Coalton High School, Rebecca was employed as the Jackson County Deputy Clerk of Courts. In 1950 she married George O. Hodgson and they had one daughter, Ruth. Rebecca’s devotion to her family was apparent through her role as a loving wife and mother. Shortly after George’s retirement, they moved to Mesa, Arizona to be near Ruth and her family. While in Arizona they continued to minister for the Lord in their new community.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband George, brother Hubert, and grandson Roderick Aaron Argabright.

Her legacy and love of music will continue through her daughter Ruth Argabright (Ron), grandchildren Renate Allen, Ryan Argabright (Jennifer), Rachel Hassan (Omar), as well as great-grandchildren Megan, Elena, Stephen, Savannah and Abraham. Rebecca is also survived by brother Dean Swingle (Diane) of Wellston.

Services for Rebecca were held on July 23, at Mountain View Memorial

Gardens Chapel in Mesa. Contributions in Rebecca’s name may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix AZ 85014.
