Virginia Hope (Coyan) Law

Virginia Hope (Coyan) Law, age 87, of Jackson, Ohio, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. The oldest of 13 children, she was born November 10, 1926 to the late William Raymond Coyan and Nellie Blanche (Hayth) Coyan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin D. Law and daughter, Linda Bush Prater. Also preceding her in death were 4 brothers: Norman, William Raymond Jr., James and Steven Coyan; Sisters: Bernice Fisher, Alpharetta McLaughlin and Saundra Coyan.

She is survived by sons: Roger and Richard (Tami) Law; Brothers: Gary Coyan, Michael (Julia) Coyan, Thomas (Carol) Coyan, Carl Coyan, and a sister, Shirley Jones. Also surviving are 4 grandsons: Shane Prater, Ryan, Richard and Eric Law; 1 granddaughter, Shannon Prater Spriggs; 3 great-grandchildren: Stevi Lynn Spriggs, Kathryn Spriggs and Marcus D. Law; several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was a member of Good Shepard Wesleyan Church.

Gravesides services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014 with Pastor Rick Christman officiating.

Services are under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home, 135 Broadway Street, Jackson, Ohio.
