John Raymond Thacker, Sr., age 66, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at the Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. He was born May 16, 1947 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Howard O. Thacker and Marion McKinniss Thacker. John was a 1965 graduate of McArthur High School and was a former employee of McNally Pittsburg Manufacturing in Wellston and Crownover Lumber in McArthur.
He is survived by two sons, John R. Thacker, Jr. of Dayton and Steven E. Thacker of Dayton; brother, Jack Thacker of Wellston, as well as eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Marie Thacker and his brother, James E. Thacker.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston where friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Following cremation, burial will be in the Hamden Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
