Mary Virginia (Frazie ) Alban, age 96, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 12, 2014. She was born December 1, 1917 in Upper Tygart, Kentucky to Van and Mary Essyl (Rayburn) Frazier. She had two brothers, Homer and Howard Frazier who both preceded her in death.
Mary grew up in Firebrick, Ohio. She was a graduate of Washington Township High School at Blackfork. After graduating she took correspondence courses from Commercial Extension College in Omaha, Nebraska. She was a member of Bethel Church.
On September 2, 1943 Mary married Paul Spencer Alban, who also preceded her in death. Mary and Paul had two children, a daughter, Mary Ellen Manning who preceded her mother in death on September 25, 2005 and a son, Lynn Spencer Alban.
In addition to her son Lynn (Susan) Alban of Vinton, Ohio, Mary is survived by six grandchildren; Adam (Tami) Smallwood, Jason (Kay) Smallwood, Eli (Rachelle) Alban, Jonna Shreve, Ashley Manning, and Autumn (Aaron) Beaver; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Smallwood, Tanner Smallwood, Austin Alban, Ragan Shreve, Abigail, Ayla, Ayson, and Alton Beaver, and Oliver and Finley Alban; as well as nieces and nephews, Terry, Tony, Roger, and Donna Frazier.
A service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Linda Plummer officiating. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis and Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio.
