Janet L. Shumate, of Jackson, Ohio and formerly of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away March 19, 2014 at Heartland of Jackson. She was born March 14, 1928 to the late Orsel and Edna (Johnson) Shumate in Oak Hill, Ohio.
Janet was a graduate of Ohio State University and worked as a dental hygienist at the University of Indiana.
She is survived by two nieces, Ellen Shumate, Karen Hart; and good friend and companion, Ruth Vickers of Jackson, Ohio.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her brother, Bill Shumate.
